Biography
Mariama Suwareh is the youngest Gambian female film producer in Gambia. She is also one of the most prominent actresses and film producers to come from The Gambia. She was born and raised in Gambia & has been in the Gambia movie industry for over a decade. She is very beautiful, gifted, skillful, creative, and talented and knows how to interpret her roles very well and can fit in any character given
to her by movie directors and producers. In December 2015, she created Gambian history by launching her first ever movie “God’s Purpose”, at a grand spectacular event thus making her the country’s youngest ever female movie producer. A movie, in which she starred, directed, and produced. The launch was a huge success and grabbed several newspaper headlines. "God's Purpose", is a touching and sorrowful movie that brings to the fore the story of a young man, who lives with his stepmother and sister after his father passed away. It is a societal movie that explains the despair this young man endured at the hands of his stepmother. The movie shoot in The Gambia also featured renowned African stars such as the Pan African award winner- Monica Davis, Eke Chucku from Nigeria plus other Gambian stars such as Mbaye Bittaye, Sheikh Omar Sawaneh and Saffiatou Baldeh, the 2014 Miss 22 July Second Runner-up. Mariama Suwareh is currently living in New York where she attained New York Film Academy. Mariama intends to fulfill her dreams through this academy and be the person that tells stories that captivate the audience and educate and entertain people around the world and forever represent Gambia. She intends to one day open her own film production academy in The Gambia to help provide a platform for young people to also exhibit and enhance their interests or talents.
